Bisque fired pieces fresh and warm from the kiln this morning ☺️ One of the major benefits of having our own kiln has definitely been the ease of testing things! As much as I love trying out new glaze combos, there is something about beach glass experiments that gets me extra excited every time it's time to fire up the glaze kiln 💚🌊 The glaze results of these plates turned out to be a very happy surprise after a little mishap 🌿 Sunset, sangria and the lovely company were the key elements for celebrating the international women's day yesterday evening 🧡 Happy Women's Day! 🧡💫🌺 Today on the table: little bowls with botanical imprints. Leaves and flowers collected from our garden 🌿 Our biggest plaster mold yet was made using a peel of a whole pineapple! 🍍 With this mold we have made mugs with handles, and more tumbler-like vessels that work really well for cocktails and other iced drinks 🍹A couple of Finnish friends got them to drink their "lonkero" or "long drinks" from them 😊 Such a calming and beautiful afternoon on the beach yesterday. We were on the sunny side of the bay, sitting in the shade of the trees, while further towards east the dark clouds were gathering and it was raining out at the sea ⛈️🩵 The perfect weather for a beach trip if you ask me! One of the favorites of the recent glaze firing 💚🌊 A few clips of making a cute botanical imprint dish 🌿🪻 Overall really happy with the result, although the leaves didn't leave strong enough imprint and kind of faded away under the three coats of Textured Turquoise. The flowers did great, though 😊
